The Basics

The Spring Trap Season consists of 9 weeks + Tournaments

2 - Official Practice Weeks
1 - Reserve Week
5 - Competition Weeks
1 - Fun Week
Ohio Trap Shooting State Tournament
USAHSCTL National Tournament

Each week, shooters will shoot 2 rounds of 25 birds from the 16 yard stations.

Scores for both rounds are totaled, and that becomes the shooter's score for the week. Shooter's scores are averaged through the weeks for their Season Average. A shooter's rank (Junior/Varsity) is determined by their average when it comes to Tournaments.

Practice Weeks scores are only for practice. They are not recorded.

Reserve Week and Competition Week scores are recorded in the Scoring System with the top performers counting towards the Team Score.

Shooting for GV Trap Club is held on Sundays at 1pm at the Orwell Gun Club. If you are unable to shoot on a particular Sunday, arrangements can be made to shoot on Wednesdays (Rock Creek Conservation Club) or Thursdays (Orwell Gun Club).

February 4th

Athlete Registration Opens

Once an invite is received, Team Members can begin registering using the ClayTargetGo! Registration Portal.

March 24th @ 1:00pm EST

Athlete Registration Closes

Last day for athlete registration (or withdrawal for registration fee refund)

March 30th and April 6th

Official Practice Weeks begin

Team Members use these weeks to hone their skills and prepare for Competition Weeks. Shooters are able to shoot as many rounds as they wish during these weeks.

April 13th

Reserve Week begins

Reserve Week is a Score Week. If you are unable to shoot 1 week during Competition Weeks, your Reserve Score is used instead.

April 20th

Competition Weeks 1-5 begin

Competition Weeks are Score Weeks. All scores count towards individual scores/averages and Team scores/averages. Each Team Member MUST complete 2 rounds. If 2 rounds can not be completed, you may use your Reserve Week Score or score a zero for that week.
